Dear McLoud Family, We are pleased to inform you that current Covid numbers among our staff have declined to the point where we feel we can safely return to “business as usual” next week. Our current plan is to return to in-person instruction Monday, December 7th. Our ultimate goal is to keep the District operating traditionally with in-person services through the remainder of this semester. To assist us in achieving this goal we are asking that PK-3 grade students wear masks while at school. This is in addition to our mask mandate for 4-12 grade students. We hope this extra measure of precaution helps limit exposure to COVID19 and other viruses thus allowing us to continue traditional instruction. All winter sport participants will be allowed to have two guests at each home event. These guests will sign in at the entry gate. Masks will be required as will the regular admission fee. Temperatures will be taken at the time of entry. We are establishing these procedures in an effort to limit the spread of Covid 19 while allowing our athletes to participate. Please continue regular hand washing, wearing a mask while in public places, and social distancing. As always, thank you for our continued support as we work together to navigate this situation.

I am sorry, but I would like to post a follow up to the post from earlier. Our staff has spent countless hours and resources trying to motivate students to log on and do their work. I would like to commend our students who do log-in and complete assignments. We have an awesome student body here at MHS and all of them have different situations they are dealing with. It seems that most of my messages are trying to convince students to do what they are supposed to do so I wanted to change the tone. So a big shout out and THANK YOU to our students who are making an effort to take care of their grades in a very difficult situation!!

Good afternoon MHS students and parents! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and even though it was different for many, I hope you found that we have much to be thankful for. Obviously, this has been a very different year in education as well as in all walks of life. Students, teachers, and administrators have had to adjust on the fly and do things differently than we ever have. It has been challenging to say the least! In past years our semester tests at the high school have been 10% of a student's grade. I have decided that with student's coming and going and school in and out, along with the uncertainty of what is to come for the next couple of weeks that we will not be giving semester tests. The last week of school for the semester will be a normal week whether we are traditional or virtual and attendance will be taken like normal. Parent's, we have a LOT of students choosing to do nothing! Please understand that grades and attendance are being taken and failing courses will result in no credit for the classes failed. We need student's to stay on top of their assignments and get them turned in. Please have them log-in and do assignments everyday! Google Meet's are being held everyday for your students to ask questions of their teachers. Please take advantage of these opportunities! Have a great day and email Mr. Jennings or Mrs. Eddings with any questions or concerns at bjennings@mcloudschools.us or jeddings@mcloudschools.us.
