Parents/Guardians,
We announced last week that McLoud Schools would be getting free lunches next year for every student. Before we can roll out that program we need to clear the books on any current outstanding cafeteria bills. The district currently has approximately $20,000 in unpaid lunch balances. You can find and pay your balance on the parent/guardian portal on Wengage. Thank you for helping take care of this so that we can move forward.

I am excited to announce that beginning next school year, ALL students in the district will not only eat FREE breakfast, but they will also enjoy FREE lunch!! Free breakfast and lunch for every McLoud student starting next school year!
We are thankful for the CEP (Community Eligibility Provisions) program and are delighted that every student will have access to healthy meals. No application or eligibility requirements are necessary. Meals are FREE for every student!
Special thanks to our Child Nutrition ladies for helping complete this application!!

Senior, Jessica Roberts addressed the school board Monday at our May meeting. Jessica participated in our internship program led by Mrs. Lindsey Myers. The internship program is new this year to McLoud High School and has provided a positive experience to many of our seniors. The program allows students to explore career options prior to attending college. Jessica referred to the experience as, "the best of her high school career". Jessica interned at our secondary cafeteria.
If you are a business owner and would be willing to host an inter, please reach out to Coach Myers at lmyers@mcloudschools.us. We would love to offer more opportunities like this one to our students.

McLoud Schools is thrilled to announce they will be receiving a grant from the Lincoln County Partnership for Child Well Being! They grant will fully fund the school nurse for the 2024-2025 school year. Thank you to Joani Webster and Partners in Caring for their assistance in getting this grant! We are so thankful for your partnership with McLoud Schools.

McLoud School District,
In light of the recent safety concerns in McLoud and surrounding schools districts, the school board along with public concern has compelled us to revisit safety options and upgrades at key locations throughout our district. A comprehensive safety assessment has been completed and many improvements are in order. Upgrades were carefully prioritized by giving consideration to high traffic areas and areas with excessive exposure.
The district has made safety a priority and has taken many steps toward solidifying safety protocols and practices. However, those things alone cannot meet the needs of increasing safety concerns. District administration is working with the school board to reintroduce a future bond issue that will meet higher standards of safety for students, staff, and anyone visiting our district.
As plans are drawn and decisions made, we hope to share that information with you and gain your support for the future safety of our students and staff.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Hockenbury
Superintendent
