Good evening parents/guardians, students, and staff;
I have been keeping a close eye on the weather today to make an informed decision for school tomorrow. I have been in contact with area superintendents all afternoon who are faced with making the same decision. According to the National Weather Service, our local area has only a 20 - 30% chance of freezing rain tomorrow afternoon. Currently, only trace amounts of accumulation are showing. Based on this information, McLoud Public Schools is planning for in-person instruction tomorrow.
These decisons are difficult to make and are not taken lightly. We must take into account numerous factors including road conditions, student safety, staff safety, and the education of our students. As always, the weather in Oklahoma is subject to abrupt change. Should this occur, all factors will be weighed and a new decision will be made.
I appreciate your patience and support as we navigate the next few days of inclement weather. Have a good evening and stay warm!

Parents and Guardians,
Road conditions are beginning to worsen, in the best interest of student safety, we will be flexible in student checkout time this afternoon. If you have a student driver, you may contact the school office to have your student dismissed. Parents, you may also check out your student without attendance penalty. Tomorrow will be a VIRTUAL DAY. Please make sure students complete assigned work. STAY WARM AND STAY SAFE!
